Регіональною особливістю Брянської області є ландшафти полісь та опіль. Ці типові ландшафти були вивчені в процесі багаторічного експедиційного ландшафтного картографування співробітниками кафедри фізичної географії та ландшафтознавства МДУ ім. М.В.Ломоносова. Такі типи ландшафтів є парагенетичними і пара динамічними, вони - продукт останніх зледенінь. Проте, слід прийняти до уваги також диференціацію ландшафтів на рельєфі під впливом атмосферної циркуляції. Для антропогенних систем важливим є контраст опіль і полісь.
Opole landscapes and Polessye landscapes are the main types of landscape in the Bryansk region. These typical landscapes were studied on the basis of expedition mapping by Department of Physical Geography and Landscapes of Moscow State University for many years. These types of landscapes are associated with each other in their origin and development: they are product of the last glaciations. However, the differentiation of landscape under the influence of atmospheric circulation, apparently, must also be considered in this case. Opole and Polessye contrast is important for artificial systems.
