У статті розглядаються перекладацькі тактики відтворення українською мовою промовистих імен у п’єсах Шекспіра, які дозволяють зберегти прозорість семантики такого імені, важливу для кращого розуміння ролі відповідного персонажу, а також його етноспецифічну оформленість.
The article aims to consider the translation techniques of reproducing in Ukrainian the
names with transparent semantics in Shakespeare’s plays, focusing on the ways to retain
both the meaning of the name for the target audience, which is conducive to the better un derstanding of some particular character, and the ethnic distinctiveness of the corresponding anthroponym.
