У статті проаналізовано розвиток Київського університету св. Володимира в період згортання реформ в освітній сфері наприкінці ХІХ ст., в роки революції 1905-1907 рр. та післяреволюційний період до початку Першої світової війни. Досліджено найяскравіші сторінки історії найвідомішоговищого навчального закладу правобережжя України у контексті тогочасної епохи. Розглянутовнутрішню діяльність колективу університету - керівництва, викладачів, студентських об"єднань. Простежено основні напрями впливу університету на освітнє та культурне життя Києва та інших українських міст колишньої Російської імперії. Проаналізовано діяльність учених та їх талановитих учнів, які працювали у стінах університету. За допомогою методів об"єктивності, історизму, аналізу та синтезу вдалося дослідити основні напрями діяльності навчального закладу та його вплив на формування інтелігенції як Києва, так і інших міст України.
В статье анализируется развитие Киевского университета св. Владимира в период свертывания реформ в образовательной сфере в конце XIX в., в период революции 1905-1907 гг. И послереволюционный период до начала Первой мировой войны. Исследовано яркие страницы истории известного вуза правобережья Украины в контексте своего времени. Рассмотрена внутренняя деяте&льность коллектива университета - руководства, преподавателей, студенческих иобъединений. Исследованы основные направления влияния университета на образовательную и культурную жизнь Киева и других украинских городов бывшей Российской империи. Проанал&изирована деятельность ученых и их талантливых учеников, которые работали в университете. С помощью методов объективности, историзма, анализа и синтеза удалось исследовать основные направления деятельности учебного заведения и его влияние на формиров&ание интеллигенции как Киева, так и других городов Украины.
The article analyzes the development of the st. Volodymyr University of Kyiv during the reversal reforms in the educational sphere in the late nineteenth century, during the Revolution in 1&905-1907 and the post-revolutionary period before the First World War. The brightest pages in the history of the famous institution of higher education on the right bank of Ukraine are investigated in the context of that time. In particular, students& struggle for the restoration of institutional autonomy, individual protests against conservative professors and university staff, the establishment and activities of various student organizations and groups are brought to light. In the late nineteen&th - early twentieth century the High School entered a period of deep crisis. Socio-economic backwardness of the country, the tsarist autocracy, the omnipotence of officials slowed down the development of science, technology and culture. The answer t&o the conservative policy of tsarism in higher education was a student movement that broke out under the influence of social problems. The internal activities of the University representatives including university staff and students are considered. T&he University faced difficult economic challenges. The supporting and administrative university staff experienced even more difficult financial situation, thus, laboratory assistants, interns, librarians, secretaries, accountants, etc. had extremely &small salaries. The educational activities of the University in the late XIX and early XX century took place in difficult and adverse conditions. Therepresentatives of the University took active part in many All-Russian Scientific congresses and inte&rnational conferences. The University professors actively contributed to the creation of new universitiesin Kyiv. In the late nineteenth century, in 1898, another great institution of higher education, The Polytechnic Institute, was founded. The univ&ersity professors M. Bunge, G. de Metz, S.
