Комплексно аналізуються наукові дослідження представників сучасної української історіографії (1991-2013 рр.), які стосуються благодійної діяльності Б. Хмельницького. Основна увага зосереджується на публікаціях щодо церковно-монастирської благодійності гетьмана. Акцентується увага на впливі Національно-визвольної війни українського народу середини ХVІІ ст. на зміну ціннісних орієнтирів, ментальності козацької старшини. Через характеристику робіт відомих істориків сьогодення наголошується на значимості утвердження ідеї національного державотворення, самобутності та самоідентифікації.
Комплексно анализируются научные исследования представителей современной украинской историографии (1991-2013 гг), касающиеся благотворительной деятельности Б. Хмельницкого. There is comprehensive analysed the scientifi c researches of the representatives of a modern Ukrainian historiography (1991-2013), con&cerning the charitable activity of Bogdan Khmelnitsky. The main focus is on publications on church and monastery charity hetman. Attention is accented on the impact of the National Liberation War of the Ukrainian people in the mid-seventeenth century& on the change of values and mentality of Cossack offi cers. There is stressed the importance of strengthening the idea of national statehood, identity and self-identifi cation due to the characteristic of works of well known historians of nowadays. &According to modern domestic researchers (A. Brel, V. Vechersky, S. Kilesso, N. Kuksa, W. Lenchenko etc.), Bohdan Khmelnytsky continued the traditions of the Zaporozhian Cossack chieftain, colonels, captains of construction of Orthodox churches, dona&tions for their support, taking under theprotection of their ecclesiastics, rightly believing that the built churches will be best monuments to theirfounder or builder.Bohdan Khmelnytsky issued to Kiev monasteries a large number of the laws, because &there were the oldest and the most reputable monasteries in Kiev. They concerned mainly the transfer of lands, settlements, property etc. The authority of hetmans did everything possible to enlist the support of these monasteries. According to our ca&lculations, there were published by Bogdan Khmelnitsky up 38 the laws of such content. G. Kosobutska, A. Kozmuk, F. Stupak explore actively the questions relating the laws of Hetman regarding the monasteries and charity of Hetman towards them. A sepa&rate line of study is charity of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky on education, which is represented in researches of V. Kotsur and F. Stupak and in several encyclopedic publications. Modern Ukrainian historians are unanimous that the fundamentals of philan&thropy were laid by B. Khmelnytsky already in the fi rst months of the liberation struggle. They underwent some changes for the next time, but the main thing was that the charity had proved viable and long term. Scientists emphasize that, the merit o&f Hetman was the fact that the virtuous deeds have found place in his activities even in the military and political events, although they concerned mainly the church and monastery charity. In general, the charitable activity of B. Khmelnitsky is unde&rstudied that offers great opportunities for a modern national historiography.
