The article deals with the problem of the current scientific tendencies, ideas, national research trends and persons, that define modern Slavic studies" development. Slavic problems are reviewed in the context ofthe XVIth specialists" of Slav languages and literature International congress, that was held in Ohryd (Republic of Macedonia).
