Проаналізовано одну з проповідей збірки "Ключ Разумsнія" Йоаникія Галятовського. Структурно-композиційний аналіз проповіді дозволяє говорити і про практичне втілення теоретичних настанов Йоаникія Галятовського, викладених у його трактаті "Наука албо способ зложеня казаня", і про глибину образу Богородиці, досягнену завдяки авторській манері зіставлення звичайного й незвичайного планів сприйняття і тлумачення.
The article analyses one of the homilies of the collection "The Key of Understanding" by Ioanikii Galiatovskii. The structural-compositional analysis of the sermon allows to coclude about implementation of Galіatovskіі"s theoretical guidelines in practice, set forth in his treatise "Science or the method of composition of the sermon" and aboutthe depth of the image of the Holy Virgin, achieved through the author"s manner of comparison the usual and unusual plans of perception and interpretation. Each sermon "The Key of Understanding" is composed according to his homiletics. The "Sermon on Pokrov of the Holy Virgin" has features of the baroque text and is characterized as actually innovative are highlighted. Special attention is paid to author"s story-creating metaphors. In the specification of abstract concepts and аpproaching the symbol&ism is the method of interpretating the Bible is revealed by Ioanikii Galiatovskii. Each symbol has several values. Their search becomes the most important and most difficult element in the analysis of the text of the sermon. Because it allows descry& the hidden spiritual senses for specific things. The three-part structure "Sermon on Pokrov of the Holy Virgin" contains an exordium, a narration and a conclusion. The main part is also divided into three sections with separate titles: "Weigh the we&ight of the fire"; "Measure the blown wind"; "Turn the day that has already passed", which reveals the unique image of the Virgin Mary as a woman over women of all times and peoples. Ioanikii Galiatovskii gives a peculiar interpretation of the holida&y of Pokrov with many motives and images that should lead to an understanding of the image of the Holy Virgin and to God"s love.
