The article deals with the analysis of the bioethical term "wrongful life". It means life that is not worth living from the point of view of the person who lives it, or other people who are observing this life. Practical cases, mainly from the field of jurisprudence, have led many philosophers to believe that under certain circumstances life is not good, but evil for a person. In order to clarify their arguments, one should look at life as a biology and as a biography. Reflectin&g on the identity of a person (as, for instance, J. McMahan does), one can also conclude that a person appears at a certain time after the beginning of their biological life and disappears for a certain time before its end. Thus, the wrongful life is& identified with the biological, physical life of a human being that is not yet or is no longer a person. Destruction of impersonal life is not a crime against a person, and hence it is not evil. An alternative theory (e.g. J. Walter) proposes to def&ine physical life as an ontic good, a necessary condition for the realization of all the person"s values. For this reason, such a life also endowed with special value.
