The article deals with the question of establishing the typological features of existential
discourse, as well as displaying its proto-discourse essence and defining the
main matrices–existemes, which constitute the basis for identification of genre types
for this discourse. The article describes the specificity of interpreting the questions
of existentiality in the French linguo-culture, as well as the main trends of their linguistic
expression, literary and philosophical development.
