There is a problem associated with an effect of noise on the satellite, which is located at the head of the rocket, at the start of satellites by a rocket-transmitter. The noise is gen&erated by a gas jet streaming out of the rocket nozzle. A strict theoretical formulation of the problem of sound radiation by a supersonic jet including a description of the mechanism of noise formation in the turbulent jet and the influence of the m&otion of the medium on the efficiency of acoustic radiation is very complicated. Plenty of papers are devoted to the experimental study of the field structure in the turbulent jet mixing zone. A natural question arises: is it possible to conduct appr&oximate theoretical calculations of the characteristics of the turbulent jet noise based on experimental studies of the jet? The development of simple algorithms for calculating the jet noise level, which are based on the analysis of available experi&mental studies of the noise field of the rocket jet at the start, is of interest in connection with this issue. In this paper, a semi-empirical algorithm for calculating the rocket noise at the start of a rocket with the highest possible use of accum&ulated experimental data is proposed. This approach opens up the opportunity to assess the acoustic load on the head parts of the rocket and makes it possible to get estimates of levels of the acoustic pressure at the given points of observation.
