Seven young birds were observed on a bank of the Dnieper in the town of Kaniv (49.45 N, 31.29 E) early morning on 25.11.2014. They rested on sand near the water. A weakened young White Pelican was found on a field near the village of Liplyave in Kaniv district on 27.11. An other young weakened bird has been caught on the Kremenchuk reservoir near the village of Sokirna (not far from Cherkasy) some earlier. Birds stayed up to frosts that have begun in the third decade of November. Such timing of departure is very late for pelicans. [Ukrainian].
Сім молодих птахів, які відпочивали на березі Дніпра, знайшли в Каневі вранці 25.11.2014 р. 27.11 знесиленого молодого пелікана підібрали на полі біля с. Ліпляве Канівського району. Раніше ще один знесилений молодий птах був знайдений на Кременчуцькому водосховищі біля с. Сокирне вище Черкас. Птахи затрималися до морозів, що почалися у третій декаді листопада.
