Многочисленные исследования дискурсивной интонации демонстрируют эффективность междисциплинарного подхода к исследованию сверхсегментных явлений и учета когнитивных факторов при анализе интонационного оформле- ния речевого произведения. Данная статья посвящена изучению организующей функции интонационных конструкций в плане реализации тематической струк- туры дискурса с целью выявления роли интонации в передаче аттенциональной информации.
Recent research in the areas of communication studies, discourse analysis and suprasegmental phonology has confi rmed the effectiveness of investigating prosodic production in connection with the relevant determining cognitive mechanisms. The goal of the present article is to study the use of English intonation patterns with respect to thematic segmentation of discourse in order to establish the role of intonation as a marker of attentional information.
