На основі нелінійного кінетичного рівняння з дифузією, що описує бістабіпьне середовище, отримано ряд формул для швидкості стаціонарної хвилі (біжучого фронту) в такому середовищі, що є узагальненням відомої в літературі формули. Одна з формул цього ряду дозволяє дати просту інтерпретацію умовам виникнення хвиль запалювання та гасіння. Реалізація того чи іншого типу хвилі визначається еквівалентним тепловиділенням на її фронті.

Series of formulae for velocity of the stationary wave (traveling front) were obtained based on the non-linear kinetic equation with diffusion for bistable media. These formulae are the generalization of the formula known from the literature. One formula from this series leads to the simple interpretation of the conditions of appearance of ignition and extinction waves. Type of the wave in the media is determined by the equivalent heat liberation in the wave front.
