The article is devoted to the development of Chair of Slavic Historyduring the period of Ukraine"s independence. It is elucidates the changes in content and direction of pedagogical, methodological and scientific of Chair"s staff. The great attention is paid to every staff member personal contribution into improvement of teaching process as well as the most important scientific works in the fields of ancient, medieval, modern and current history of Western and Southern Slavs.
