Research of ethnodemographical processes in Donets Coal Basin was conducted over a period 1959 - 2001. It allowed to expose the basic tendencies of changes, and also to conduct the comparative analysis of ethnodemographical processes in the times of absence of state system (1959 - 1989) and times of independence of Ukraine and on the eve of its gaining (1989 - 2001).
