Vitalii Korotych appearedto be among those young poets, who quickly entered the literature in the early 1960s. He started publishing his lyrical works in the "Dnipro" magazine and made his first debut back in 1954. On May 5, 1961 in the "Literary Newspaper" Vitalii Korotych"s lyrics entitled "Poems of the Doctor V. Korotych" was released in a full-page publication, which immediately attracted the attention of both readers and critics. Soon, in 1961, the collection of lyrical works entitled "Golden Hands" was published. Such prominent figures as Maksym Rylskyi, Nazym Hikmet and Yevhen Serstiuk made a positive references to the first attempts of the novice poet. Being a doctor, in his poetic works Vitalii Korotych quite naturally reproduced the grief and emotional concerns of people he encountered every day. At the same time, in his poems, published in the "Dnipro" magazine, Vitalii Korotych addressed a wide range of problems and motifs, such as loyalty to national values, the tragic episodes of the country"s recent past, th&e ever-lasting problem of parents and their children. The author interpreted the fate of an ordinary person, i.e. one of his contemporaries, characterized by high moral qualities and at the same time emotional troubles and vulnerability to the tempta&tions of life. Vitalii Korotych"s system of poetic thinking was featured by the vers libre form of poetry, which allowed him to recreate the inner world of lyrical characters much more deeply.
