According to the results of processing of nearly fifty printed sources, sources on the Internet and based on own regular field research materials, it was found that certain types of birds in the course of their life have very significant influence on the earth"s surface topography. Most often they create landforms with the rank of pico-, nano- and, more rarely, microrelief. In some cases, these landforms are presented at fairly large areas and have a high density of placement. It should also be pointed, that while building their nests birds move quite significant amounts of friable material (soil, sand and clay), brashwood, twigs, grass, pine needles, etc. and construct accumulative and denudation biogenic relief forms, some of which have a long period of existence (ten years or more). Among the biogenic accumulative relief forms created by birds nest-mounds of the megapodes; nest cones of flamingoes with trays ("cells f&or eggs"); giant floating nests of coots; hovels, mounds, cones and other constructions of bowerbirds; nest-mounds of northern wheatears, penguins, etc. stand out; among the denudation relief forms mainly burrowing nests of many species of birds prev&ail.
It should be mentioned, that the biogenic denudation relief forms created by birds (burrowing nests) are found in different parts of the world much more frequently than accumulative ones. In many cases they form porous surface of mural slopes, &composed of friable material. The research also investigated morphological and morphometric characteristics and material composition of relief forms created by individual representatives of avifauna of the Earth. Furthermore, it was found in which na&tural conditions they are the most common and the possibility and speed of their transformation was analyzed both under the influence of the biota, and other endogenous factors. Some representatives of the bird kingdom which settle in burrows of vari&ous animals and change them quite significantly during the arrangement of their own nests were discovered.
